Canopies are very popular at the moment and many people are looking for the right type to enhance their outdoor space. There are many different types to choose from, whether you want something which is in place permanently or whether you want something that you can put away when you’re not using it.

Here are some popular ways to use a garden canopy to help you to decide which one is best for you.

Which Canopy/Awning is right for Your Home?

We might love our neighbors but it’s nice to have a bit of privacy sometimes and a canopy is an excellent way of screening off some outdoor space to create a secret haven. That way, you can spend your time relaxing and pleasing yourself.

Canopies are particularly good if you have a hot-tub out in the open. Not only will they protect you from the worst of the elements, they will make you feel considerably less exposed.

It’s a real pain when you’re planning to eat outdoors and you’ve laid your table and sat down to eat only for it to start raining. So you gather your lunch and go back indoors only for the sun to come out.

A canopy will provide a degree of shelter from minor changes in the weather so you can enjoy your al fresco meal undisturbed. If your deck or patio is next to your house, you might find that a retractable awning is a useful way to provide cover.

You can choose from a garden canopy that you operate yourself or a motorized version that will open and close by remote control.

Enjoy the Outdoors with Protection from the Elements

Nearly everyone cheers up when the sun comes out but sometimes we can have too much of a good thing. A canopy is great for providing shade on the hottest days so that you can make the most of your outdoor space without the risk of burning.

You can increase the level of UV protection that your canopy provides by choosing a model in a light color as this will help to reflect harmful rays away from you and your family.

Many people have French doors and conservatories these days. They’re fantastic for letting in the light and enjoying garden views but the sun can take its toll on your furniture.

By fitting outdoor canopies, you can protect your valuable furnishings from fading in the sun. They’ll also prevent unwanted glare.

A garden canopy can be an excellent way to create an outdoor room. This can be used for working, entertaining, or just relaxing. They can also be used to provide shelter for any smokers who are banned from the house.

You can choose from a semi-permanent pavilion type of canopy or if you prefer to ring the changes, go for a freestanding awning that you can move about. Many garden canopies are quite sophisticated nowadays and you can buy models that come with built-in heat and light systems which means they’re ideal for making the most of the British summer.
