Décor in a media room or home theater tends to fall into one of several categories. First, you could keep it simple and stick to simple, neutral colors so that your techno-gadgets are what stand out most. Second, you could use a themed room, from musicians to theater inspiration.

Lastly, you can choose something unique, such as letting Hollywood or Bollywood design your media room. This may sound odd, but it is a great way to change the look of your media room fairly frequently without spending a lot of money.

Basic Home Theater Decor

You can start with a basic theater style, or choose a different decor that suits your own personality and budget. Neutral colors, inset lighting, and heavy red drapes are fun, but they are not a required part of your Hollywood theme.

For the sake of the movie feel though, you should at least offer lighting that can be dimmed for movie time, and a sound system that will show off the movie’s audio highlights.

Adding Hollywood; Harry Potter, Anyone?

There are a few different ways that you can let Hollywood design your Sony BRAVIA Home Theater System . First, you can choose posters and prints of the rich and famous. As new movies are released, or different stars become popular, the posters can be replaced.

This gives the feel of newness without adding expensive new things to the room. It is a quick, easy, but fun and imaginative fix.

Secondly, you can let movies be your guide. Do some research and discover the highest grossing movies of all time, or choose a genre or movie series that appeals to you, such as Harry Potter or Indiana Jones.

Then, create, borrow, find, or purchase movie posters for those particular movies. As new movies replace the old ones, or new ones need to be added to the collection, you can easily incorporate them into your decor.

Finally, you can use a unifying theme. For example, if you love Johnny Depp and his films, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, you could use prints and posters that pay homage to Johnny both as an actor and as a man with films and individual shots. It could be an actor, singer, songwriter, producer, or someone else associated with the movie.

Finishing the Hollywood (or Bollywood) Look

Accessories can really make the Hollywood-inspired media room look fabulous. For example, you could create “Hollywood stars” for your floor or design a map to the stars and make sure that your media room is the star attraction.

Touches like antique popcorn makers and director’s clapboards make a great addition to the room, and they are even better if they are functional.

Movie reels and movie-themed collectibles can be used on a ledge, mantel, or shelf for a great touch too.

Letting Hollywood design your media room can be a lot of fun, no matter which way you let the stars be your guide. It’s a great way to keep things lively without spending a lot of money, and makes excellent conversation starters for parties.

Whether you are hosting a movie night or simply enjoying time with family, a Hollywood-inspired media room is a great way to do something unique that looks fabulous without costing a ton.
